New Addition

We added another member to our family!

Our 2015 Subaru Forester finally came in.

Mac approves too.

He seems upset that I haven't let him in there to sniff around and get his slobber all over the windows. Sorry bud, somethings are just off limits to puppies.

Summer Hair

This summer my hair has seemed so dry and damaged. The sun and chlorine really takes it's toll on my hair.

I recently discovered Loreal's deep recovery mask. I put it on damp hair leave for 5 minutes and rinse it out. My hair has never been so soft or so hydrated before. The best thing is you only need to use it once a week.

A great drugstore purchase in my opinion. So if any of you struggle with damage dry hair, I would suggest giving this a try.

Minnesota Twins

We went to another Twins game yesterday. It was such a beautiful day out. We played terrible and lost the game, but I had fun regardless. I love most major league sporting events.

Nick and I even got on the jumbo tron with a picture we tweeted at the MN Twins, so that was pretty cool.

Both games we went to this year had marriage proposals, I don't know how I feel about such public propsals like that.

Mac and the cone

Mac had surgery yesterday and has been moping around in his cone all day. The night we picked him up from the hospital was so hard for me. He was completely out of it, tongue hanging out of his mouth, drooling, could barely stand.

This mama lost it. I just wanted to comfort him, he didn't know what was happening or what hit him.

It's going to be a long next two weeks as he is not suppose to run/jump/stretch etc.

And he hates his cone more than anything, either he is trying to get it off, or he is depressed and just stands there crying and won't sit or lay down because he doesn't know how to with that big thing around his head.

I love this puppy too much. Hoping this boy has a fast and easy recovery.

Family Weekend

Last weekend I spent time with my family.

I went to a carnival with my cousin, where she won us a gold fish who we named "Tammy". Because later that night we went to the movie  Tammy.

We thoroughly enjoyed the movie, had some good laughs and good popcorn.

We both spent the night at my grandparents house and had an old fashion girls sleep over, stayed up too late talking and watching tv.

Sunday morning I went to Cally's softball game.

Nick drove up and met me in the cities and we continued our way together with Mac out to my parents place.

There's nothing better then getting to spend a relaxing weekend watching baseball with your family.

When it rains, it pours

Well the past week has had many ups and downs... more so downs.

We came home one evening to some wet carpet in our basement, to find that our water heater was leaking and we'd need a new one.

Of course it was a Saturday so any repairs would have cost twice as much as during the week. So we cleaned up the mess, put a little bucket under there, and bought a de-humidifer at 11pm on a Friday night.

And the only place open at that hour was Walmart. . . a place Nick and I absolutely can not tolerate. And sure enough our 1 item shopping trip in there was a disaster.

The joys of home ownership sometimes, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Having a place to call home that is my own is priceless.

Sushi + Movie

Last week we indulged in sushi and the cinema.

I have been on a sushi kick for the last 6 months, I go through these phases where it's all i want to eat. Before sushi it was greek cuisine.

The weather was perfect so we were able to sit out on the patio which I always love.

The one type of sushi I do not enjoy is tuna.... I don't know what it is about tuna but the few times I've tried it, I have not been a fan.

I have been getting that urge to take a vacation again. It's been almost a year since our last trip. . .  picking a destination we both can agree on.. thats the hard/fun part.

Any suggestions?

Common, but not that common

A rainbow.

How often do you truly see a great rainbow?

Sure once in awhile after a rain you can catch a glimpse of one, but not like the one you see in movies.

I saw the most amazing defined rainbow I'd ever seen.

The picture really doesn't do it justice.

I feel like rainbows like this one are kind of a rare occurrence.

It really cheered me up after such a rainy day.

I feel like there is a bigger message in all of this.

It goes along with the bible story of the rainbow being a promise from god.

Its sometimes the simple things during the day that can make the biggest impacts on my life.

Take me out to the ball game!

Last weekend we decided to hit up a MN Twins baseball game with some friends.

It was a hot day out, but thankfully we had some cloud coverage so it was tolerable during the baseball game.

Thanks to my mother-in law for puppy sitting Mac so Nick and I could spend some time with our friends without feeling guilty that he would be in a kennel for a long time.

and OF COURSE we won! ;)

There is something so great about a baseball game; the food, the people, the competition. I hope to make it to many more this summer!

The Fourth of July!

hello! hope you all had a fun independence day! My little family of 3 celebrated here at home. My parents came down as well.

^^We started the morning off by trying to get a picture with our boy Mac . . as it is his first 4th of July. It is near impossible to get a nice picture with this puppy. Anyone have any tips?

When my parents got to town we went down to the river that runs through the city and rented out paddle boats and floated up the river and caught some sun!

We then obviously had to cool off with some frozen yogurt with all the toppings!

Afterwards we took our bikes up to the nearby state trail.

We ate dinner together and enjoyed the evening back at our house hanging outside on the deck. We didn't even get to the american themed cupcakes my mom brought down. We were all so full and so tired.

It was a wonderful day. I am currently just relaxing and will be heading to the lake later on to watch some fireworks!

2013 fourth of July here is the link to what we did last year. (pool party!) and 2012's fourth of july and this is from 2 years ago.. spent the weekend up at our good friends cabin. 2011 fourth of july And finally back to 3 years ago...when Nick and I were just dating.

It is crazy how vividly i remember each of these days- time flies when you are having fun!

Thai Food

The other night Nick surprised me after picking me up from work and taking me to this new Thai style restaurant for dinner.

I got pineapple shrimp fried rice and Nick had some really yummy noodle dish.

I love trying new things. I can get so bored with food and switching it up helps keep me inspired in my own kitchen. (this inspired me to have pineapple in the house) not very original... but we did get some frozen pineapple chunks from Costco. They are so refreshing!
