Something about this horse necklace makes my outfit feel complete. It is a reminder to me that I am a free spirit. Feeling that i have the ability to up and go somewhere, be able to choose the direction i want to go in life.
That gives me a sense of power and control.
When in reality I know that i don't have much control in my life, as I am trying everyday to let the Lord lead me.
This horse pendant is a simple reminder of that. It was gifted to me by Jill. (for the reason that Edie Sedgewick rode horses, was free spirited, and our favorite part in her movie "Factory Girl" is her riding a horse.)
It may seem silly to some, but to me it means a lot.

I have a deer necklace I got when I started college. Deer are awkward and gangly like me, so I wear it a lot and it's me. I am really finding a weird mental connection with elephants in the past month or so. My brother Jeremy was obsessed with them as a kid, and they're so beautiful, and a lot more like people than we think. Also, female elephants are the leaders :) and feminism has been a huge influence on my life. My brothers have also been living in Cali for a few months, and there isn't a day where I don't tear up thinking about the day I get to see them. I really want an elephant tattoo now because Jeremy especially has been a huge rock for me. And it would be cool to always have him with me in the form of a ballin, realistic elephant tattoo. This is an idea I am 100% serious about and hope to accomplish in the next few months.
