Home Sweet Home

In other news. . .

Nick and I have bought a home.

I have so many feelings.

First and foremost excited. Beyond excited, I am thrilled. I can't wait to set up a permanent camp with the one i love most. We have been talking about getting a house together since we've gotten engaged.

Everything has fallen into place. We had some set backs and heartbreaking issues happen on other houses we had liked, but i realized all those "errors" got me to here. It is so hard to realize there can be good in the bad at the time though, isn't it?

I daydream of our future in the home. Cooking meals, birthday parties on the deck, summer bon fires on our patio. Someday a baby trying to crawl up the steps, and realizing we need to get a gate.

I fear for the responsibilites. Furnace filters need to be changed frequently?-- who knew? Change the furnace damper settings with the season?- whats that. What type of salt to use in the water softner? Which type of lawn mower do we need? What if the dishwasher breaks? How many carbon monixide detectors do we need?

I can't wait to experience all of these issues, overcoming problems, and rejoicing in the small successes of day to day life.

You know what they say . . .

23

For my birthday we had a pot luck and just celebrated with close friends in the warmth of my apartment.

Doesn't mean it didn't get wild, I think we all had a fantastic night- not just the birthday girl.

^ the day after my birthday. . .

I stood and stared at myself in this mirror for a good 10 minutes, in a public bathroom, just critiquing myself.

Here I am 23, wishing i was prettier, thinner, more tan, had more money, had more time to hang out with friends, had nicer clothes, nicer shoes, had a more fashionable job. . . .

I expressed all these wants and shallow thoughts to Nick... he always says the right thing;

a. to make me appreciate my life
b. make me feel a little guilty for being so negative and shallow
c. make me feel like i am the most beautiful, accomplished women on this planet

He keeps my head on straight.

When i compare myself to Rihanna at 23, or Miranda Kerr . . . of course i will feel inferior to them. They are millionaire, supermodels.

Anyways, this year at the age of 23, I am striving to be less negative, and be thankful for all that i have even when i am having a bad day.

So what I can't by 800 dollar shoes... i probably would be so anxious and nervous to wear them outside it would be a waste of money and they would sit in my closet.

Someone has it better then you, someone has it worse than you. Just try to appreciate where you are at in life.

Rain > Snow

Just been enjoying the gloomy skies.

Lack of sunshine.

No one outside being active.

Taking my umbrella with my everywhere.

I sincerely enjoy the rain.

After all rain is better than snow.

Jersey's = Jammy's

The last month all i have been sleeping in is my husband's old basketball jersey's. They are SO comfortable. They are silky, soft, smell like him, breezy, easy to put on deodorant... i mean really girls, if you haven't tried this- do it. It will revolutionize your sleeping experience!

I don't think i will ever go back to wearing "regular" pajamas again.

▲▲▲ April Vogue Videos

I was so excited when i saw this months Vogue featured Miranda Kerr. She is one of my biggest role models. She promotes overall well being. I can't wait for her second book to come out this fall.

And for Vogue Spain, another one of my favorite Victoria Secret Models was featured. What a good month of  Vogue.

These 2 videos below are also from April Vogue 2013. They seem dark and lonely.

This video of Edie Campbell (who is a frequent Vogue model) was created by Steven Meisel.

And here we have another Beauty Story by Solve Sundsbo.

California 2013

We love California.

We love traveling together.

It doesn't matter where you are, it matters who you are with.

Can't wait till the next time we get to visit nick's family out in California, we had the most wonderful trip! So nice to get out of MN with all this snow we've been having.

3 years

Today marks 3 years dating with Nick. I remember the day he asked me to be his girlfriend like it was yesterday. What i was wearing, what cologne he had on, we were watching the show Scrubs.

I am the most blessed woman on this planet, that a man so handsome and caring could love a girl like me. I am overly emotional, too judgmental of others, hypocrite, and sometimes can not be a nice person.

We went out to eat to celebrate. I wasn't feeling very well, so i ate about half my dish. Then of course get our leftovers packed up. . .  get back  to our apartment. Shoot left the leftovers on the table.

Nick i love you to the moon and back. Forever my bops.

Somewhere Else

I haven't felt like blogging..

I don't want to cook a dessert..

I don' t want to go outside in the cold and practice photography. .

Its been an extremely long two weeks. A family friend passed away, so i spent some time at home. I work this weekend.

I slept for 11 hours today, and i am still feeling tired.

I've forced myself out for 2 nights out.

Once for the Rihanna concert

And once for karoke/bargo (bingo at the bar)

I just want to be somewhere else.

We leave for California in one week.

I know I am going to want to move out there. The weather, the fresh air, the ocean, the people, the food. Why wouldn't I?. . Because I could never be that far from my family.

Somewhere else, wherever that may be- that sounds perfect.

▲▲▲ March Vogue

Beyonce is this months cover of Vogue. Not only am i a fan of her music, but she makes a beautiful and elegant model.

Next we have Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for Vogue Spain. This set is making me thrilled for warm weather. Rosie has a very unique look and style to her modeling. She is very easy to recognize. This is a big accomplishment in the modeling world.

Last but not least, the Beauty Story this month by Camilla Akran

Fish Fry

A few days ago we decided to visit my parents. To our luck it was the community fish fry going on. It's always nice during the lent season to have choices to eat on friday's instead of meat.

It was excellent! We got 2 huge baskets full of fish, coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans, chips, milk, tartar sauce. Me, Nick and my dad devoured this meal, then decided to go to my high school's basketball game as it was the section championship which could get them to state.

We really had a wonderful time. Being from such a small community has been a blessing for me. Going back home I always run into old friends, classmates, coaches, teachers, kids i used to nanny, family etc.

We got hit with even more snow, and it has not been warm enough to start melting it. Grrr, im starting to lose patience.
