Well being the spontaneous newlyweds we are- didn't check the weather report before journeying 80 miles from home. We ended up driving back at midnight in slushy snowfall with slippery roads.
My point of this story is- we both had planned on making the other breakfast in the morning for V-day (that didn't happen) we were so tired haha so we slept in on Valentines day.
Nick had me ride along with him to a far off destination for his work- where we admired the Spam Museum from the outside. Due to the fact that i was in my pajama's and would not get out of the car.
I watched an odd, yet wonderful movie on Netflix called Lars and the Real Girl. (Ryan Gosling is the main actor.) I would recommend this.
Then off we went to see Safe Haven in theaters. - it was spectacular. Jawdropping, romantic, action, just a really good movie. Nick even really liked it (he said it was better then the Notebook) - but i don't know if i agree with that.
Timed it perfectly to hit our 7:30pm reservations at the OutBack Steakhouse- - - ordered WAY too much food.
Tried to help my brother get a hold of my parents as he called and told me his sad valentines day story of getting off work early for the first time, was stranded in a parking ramp after work with a flat tire, and had to wait at a bar for my parents to come find him. (poor guy) * cue violins.
Then I passed out on the couch in a food coma.
It has been a busy week and i work the next 5 days, after being off for 6. Time to get back into the routine.

Happy Valentine's Day!

ps- nick and I were talking over dinner how weird it felt shopping in the husband/wife section of cards. He said he was next to an old man picking one out and how that would be him in 50 years...unable to read the small print but wanting to pick out the perfect card for me. My husband is such a romantic, and i don't mind :)
