Guest Blog (Hubby's Turn)
Hello there fellow readers. I am taking my crack at this blogging thing and taking over the blog for this post. Life in the apartment has been pretty interesting lately. House hunting, Lost marathons, working, and trying new recipes pretty much consumes our time... Just recently we bought our tickets for the Kentucky Derby in May that we are going to with another couple. Words can't express how excited we are to go. Just looking at pictures of the day makes us that much more excited. Other than that we are just living the dream as a young newlywed couple in the city trying to become more involved in the community. I will try to guest blog more to give you that man's take on things that you are all curious about. Cheers friends!

3/52 : 3 Ingredient Ice Cream
-2 cups heavy whipping cream
-1 can of sweet condensed milk
-1 tbsp of vanilla extract
mix together until batter thickens/stiffens
put into bread pan and freeze for at least 8 hours. And enjoy!
This recipe is very sweet, we enjoyed it, but it is not something you can have a lot of because it is so rich.
We've been very busy around here, dinner dates with new friends, game night, our car got hit in the middle of the night and no one left a note, house hunting etc.
Let me know if any of you have been brave enough to try any of the desserts I have shared on here.
Stay warm out there friends.

that "one" t-shirt
You know that perfect t-shirt that you can wear with leggings around the house, be super comfortable, and feel super cute at the same time.
This t-shirt is that for me.
It shows off my tattoo just enough, has capped shoulders, and isn't an extreme scoop neckline (sometimes ladies less is more, cover them thangs up)
This is my go to t-shirt, my all in all.
Hope ya'lls new years is off to a magical start.

NYE
We hosted the New Years Eve party this year. It was a fun filled night with dancing, eating, singing, and playing games.
We spent a majority of the evening at the apartment, but ended up wandering downtown in the freezing cold weather.
Nick & I, and another couple were not having fun with the extremely crowded bars, the overly loud music, over priced drinks, and getting spilled on. So we decided the place we wanted to spend the ball drop at midnight at was on the couch, in our warm apartment, with our pajamas on.
Let me tell you, best choice I made all night.
Its not where you are, its who you are with.
A few of my resolutions for 2013 are:
+ try new healthy recipes
+ read at least 30 new books
+write 3 blog posts a week
+take a spontaneous vacation with Nick
+stay ahead on laundry
+be more aggressive with my work outs
+spend more time outside
+find a way to volunteer in our community
+love more, let the little things go
+bake a dessert once a week
What are some of your resolutions?
I have found that when I physically write down my goals, I have been more successful at achieving my them.

Simple Things
Today, before going into work I just took some quiet moments to myself. In my quiet apartment, with nothing to do, I just sat and enjoyed this moment in my life.
+enjoying the sight of my christmas tree
+staring at the glowing lights
+snuggling up with a good book

Between graduating college, passing my boards and becoming an RN, accepting a new full time RN position at one of the top hospitals in the world, Nick getting baptized, moving to a new apartment, getting married. . . I'd say I thoroughly enjoyed 2012.
There were some hardships as well; friends moving away, family members with health issues, job rejections, financial struggles, not to mention the crazy number of national tragedies our country has experienced.
There are so many more pictures i could post, between having game night every week with our best friends, trips to visit long lost friends, new babies being born in our family, new pets, grandparents wedding anniversaries etc.
I just can't believe how much has changed from last year at this time. Some of it good, some of it disappointing. But overall I can't believe how much I have changed.
Looking forward to the start of a new year and many memories to come.
xo.
