3 years

Today marks 3 years dating with Nick. I remember the day he asked me to be his girlfriend like it was yesterday. What i was wearing, what cologne he had on, we were watching the show Scrubs.

I am the most blessed woman on this planet, that a man so handsome and caring could love a girl like me. I am overly emotional, too judgmental of others, hypocrite, and sometimes can not be a nice person.

We went out to eat to celebrate. I wasn't feeling very well, so i ate about half my dish. Then of course get our leftovers packed up. . .  get back  to our apartment. Shoot left the leftovers on the table.

Nick i love you to the moon and back. Forever my bops.

Somewhere Else

I haven't felt like blogging..

I don't want to cook a dessert..

I don' t want to go outside in the cold and practice photography. .

Its been an extremely long two weeks. A family friend passed away, so i spent some time at home. I work this weekend.

I slept for 11 hours today, and i am still feeling tired.

I've forced myself out for 2 nights out.

Once for the Rihanna concert

And once for karoke/bargo (bingo at the bar)

I just want to be somewhere else.

We leave for California in one week.

I know I am going to want to move out there. The weather, the fresh air, the ocean, the people, the food. Why wouldn't I?. . Because I could never be that far from my family.

Somewhere else, wherever that may be- that sounds perfect.

▲▲▲ March Vogue

Beyonce is this months cover of Vogue. Not only am i a fan of her music, but she makes a beautiful and elegant model.

Next we have Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for Vogue Spain. This set is making me thrilled for warm weather. Rosie has a very unique look and style to her modeling. She is very easy to recognize. This is a big accomplishment in the modeling world.

Last but not least, the Beauty Story this month by Camilla Akran

Fish Fry

A few days ago we decided to visit my parents. To our luck it was the community fish fry going on. It's always nice during the lent season to have choices to eat on friday's instead of meat.

It was excellent! We got 2 huge baskets full of fish, coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans, chips, milk, tartar sauce. Me, Nick and my dad devoured this meal, then decided to go to my high school's basketball game as it was the section championship which could get them to state.

We really had a wonderful time. Being from such a small community has been a blessing for me. Going back home I always run into old friends, classmates, coaches, teachers, kids i used to nanny, family etc.

We got hit with even more snow, and it has not been warm enough to start melting it. Grrr, im starting to lose patience.

The Marilyn

Seeing that Nick is in the alcohol business he gets the exclusive on the newest products. And usually gets a bottle.... or 10. . . of new products.

My favorite one he brought home is a new vodka by the brand "Three Olives" called Marilyn Monroe. They made a martini called 'The Marilyn' with the following ingredients.

-cranberry juice
- three olives; marilyn
- splash of half &half

I enjoyed it :)

8/52: Pretzel Bites

This weeks dessert was. . . .

We made this for our NYE party, but thought we would try them again with a few changes.

We made them in smaller bites so you can just pop them in your mouth.

They are super easy to make. All you need is

-frozen bread roll (we used Rhodes Rolls)
-cinnamon/sugar
-butter

Let bread thaw, and rise a little. Cut into  small pieces, drop pieces into boiling water for 30 seconds. Pat dry, put in oven at 375 for 15 min or until golden brown. Roll in butter, then roll in toppings. You can also due parmesan garlic. But we prefer a sweet version.

Give em' a try!

Home

What do we consider home?

Where we were raised. . . where most of our friends are? where our family lives? where we are currently living?

A place of fond memories, family meals, a cozy bedroom. . .

I've lived in a few cities in my life, but all in the comfort of the state I know and love. Sure the winters suck, but Minnesota will always be home for me.

One of my good friends brother, recently took a huge leap and moved to Ghana, Africa. I have been following his journey through his blog. Noble Shark . He is just such an inspiration.

He is from the band New Medicine. From being a rock star, to moving to a small village where there is true poverty..

What an amazing journey.

Click the link above. He shares some amazing thoughts. Thoughts that i've had at one time or another but can never really express in words, let alone a blog post.

My favorite post by him thus far is Candle vs Flashlight App

Burgers & Brownies

We are suckers for a good burger.

Also, we basically live in our car.

also, i am in love withe these sunglasses (if you haven't noticed). .  and red lipstick (mac rubywoo)

This was consumed in a matter of minutes.... okay seconds.

We just got smothered with more snow. . . yay! Happy March.

I have my Christmas cookie candle lit and we did some spring cleaning today.

It was an odd combination.

Stay warm, stay happy.

A Human

+ i still beg nick to play hide & seek with me (and he does)

+ i get annoyed when other people bite their nails (yet i bite my; occasionally)

+ car rides are the most relaxing thing in the world for me

+ i love to clean

+ i sometimes go a week. .  or two, without shaving my legs

+ i tell myself i like the gym, but i hate it.

+ i talk in my sleep every single night. . . first thing nick and i discuss in the morning is what i said during the night.

+ i talk about nick way too much

+ when i'm mad, happy, sad, overwhelmed, excited. . . i cry. Its my outlet for all emotions.

+ sometimes i feel like i don't have many friends, but then i look through old picture albums and feel better

+ on certain days i really miss high school

+ i am starting to listen to country music 0_o

+ i gossip too much, and whisper too loud

+:: the earrings in this picture were gifted to me by my friends nana when we were staying with them in Alabama. One of the most memorable trips of my life (aka senior year spring break PCB)

I look back on all the memories, the good, the bad, and the down right ugly... and wonder how can it get any better? The best is behind me.

I want to be a mom someday, but am terrified of having kids.

I don't like to admit that I am nurse. . . because if i don't know something people will raise an eyebrow.

Im just a human.
